Jody Van Riper

Meet Jody

Jody Van Riper is the heart of CDE Operations. She works closely with the staff and our partners to ensure CDE is running smoothly and everyone has the information and support they need. Jody is an alum of CDE’s Environment 2042 Leadership Program, has been a CDE Program Associate since 2016, and joined our staff in 2020.

Jody is an educator and community builder at heart. She has managed programs that intersect equity, education, and conservation for 20 years. Her connection with nature, commitment to anti-racism, and support for emerging leaders have been central to a variety of professional roles: classroom teacher, program administrator, youth mentor, project manager, nature educator, and outdoor trip leader.

Jody lives in Portland, Oregon with her partner Libby and their adorable border collie, Ili. When she’s not holding it down at the CDE office, she enjoys tending her backyard garden and hiking local trails. Like a true Sagittarian, she’s always planning her next adventure.
