Mindy Coolidge

Meet Mindy

Mindy Coolidge has been a friend and supporter of CDE for a number of years, and is thrilled to be serving in an interim capacity as CDE’s Operations Associate. She grew up on the west coast and then transplanted to Portland from the midwest in 1996, having attended Macalester College in St. Paul, and finished her studies at Portland State University. Mindy spent the last 15 years at Hands On Greater Portland and United Way, fulfilling a variety of roles including Program Management and Director, and serving on the organization’s Equity Action Team and co-leading the LGBTQIA2S+ Employee Resource Group. She wholeheartedly believes in the benefits of volunteerism, including the power to connect people to their communities, to engage people in solving community issues, and to add meaning and purpose to our lives.

Volunteering in social justice has been a passion of Mindy’s for over a decade. Her primary volunteer roles are with Living Yoga, teaching yoga to women incarcerated at Coffee Creek Correctional Facility; delivering groceries to homebound seniors through Store To Door; and providing caregiver respite for the Kaiser Hospice volunteer program. She also serves on the Board of Directors for the Northwest Oregon Volunteer Administrator’s Association.

Mindy spends her free time hiking, working in her garden (and volunteering in friends gardens), keeping bees, bike-commuting, rockhounding, birdwatching, geeking out about organizing, and camping in her Sprinter van with her wife and their heeler dog.
